At least seven buyers were bidding vigorously and at least two larger groups sold via video. Hugh MacNeil was the high volume buyer whot took over one hundred Speckle Park influenced calves back to Ontario.
The largest consignor was Fred Courtney of Delia, AB. For twelve years Mr. Courtney has been breeding all of his red commercial cow herd to purebred Speckle Park bulls. “Uncle Fred” was a very happy rancher after topping the sale in 2010. But this year with the very high prices for Speckle Park influenced calves, he’s an extremely happy man – even ecstatic. Okay, let’s just say Uncle Fred was grinning from ear to ear. Congratulations, Uncle Fred!
